Loyola announces Environmental Studies annual Spring field trip Frog Walk through Jean Lafitte National Park

New Orleans)ŚThis yearĺs Loyola University New Orleans Environmental Studies annual major field trip of the Spring semester is the Frog Walk. Dr. Robert Thomas, Loyola chair in environmental communications, will lead a night walk through Jean Lafitte National Park.

Thomas is one of the foremost herpetologists in the southeastern Louisiana area. Jean Lafitte National Park is home to dozens of species of frogs and toads. Participants will hear thousands of frogs and toads calling out for their mates.

The trip is scheduled for Thursday, April 26th at 7 p.m. Participants will meet at vans parked between Buddig Hall and the RecPlex and return to campus by 11 p.m. Thomas recommends dressing comfortably and bringing flashlights, cameras, bug spray and umbrellas if the weather is rainy.
