Loyola University celebrates the season with a musical showcase

(New Orleans)—Loyola University New Orleans celebrates the holiday season with the annual Christmas at Loyola musical showcase. Christmas at Loyola, sponsored in part by the College of Music and Fine Arts’ Montage Series, features several musical ensembles including the Loyola Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Jean Montès, D.M.A.; the University Chorus and the Loyola Chorale under the direction of Meg Hulley-Frazier, D.M.A.; and the Loyola Brass Ensemble under the direction of Jeremy Breeke, A.B.D. Christmas at Loyola has been an annual tradition of Loyola and its community for fifteen years and continues to be one of most popular events of the season. This year, the holiday showcase features a mixture of classical Christmas music along with traditional Christmas carols and hymns. The event takes place Sunday, December 9, at 3 p.m., at Holy Name of Jesus Church located at 6367 St. Charles Ave. Admission to Christmas at Loyola is free and open to the public. Free parking will be available.
The Loyola University New Orleans Montage Series is a fine and performing arts showcase that exhibits some of the top arts events in the region. The series is dedicated to providing educational and entertaining performances, which include outstanding concerts, guest performers, masterclasses, jazz, dance, art exhibitions, and theatre productions in an intimate setting.
