Festivus Market held Sundays in December
Loyola press release - November 30, 2007
(New Orleans)—Shopping among friends in a lively, neighborhood, open-air space is a great way to take the hassle out of holiday shopping. On the first three Sundays in December, December 2, 9, and 16, from 12 to 4 p.m., the Festivus Market offers the best of the region’s handcrafted artwork, highlighting vendors who follow fair trade methods, believe in ecological practices, and share the belief in skilled customer service and skills.
Various types of juried products will be available at 45 local artisans booths, including cocktails and hot food. Free massages, a non-profit giftwrapping station, a grievance pole, roaming, flattery-wielding volunteers, and a regifting station will also be available.
Festivus is held by marketumbrella.org, the same individuals who founded and run the Crescent City Farmers Market. This is the festival’s fifth year.
The Sunday Festivus Market is located at 700 Magazine Street. It is open the first three Sundays in December, rain or shine. In case of rain, it is held in the attached garage at 700 Magazine. This event is free and open to the public.
