Loyola Symphony Orchestra opens 14th season with new conductor

(New Orleans, LA) –The Loyola University New Orleans College of Music and Fine Arts proudly presents the Loyola Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of new conductor Jean Montès, D.M.A, as part of the Montage Arts Series. The orchestra presents a concert that includes musical selections by Leonard Bernstein, Ludovic Lamothe, Antonin Dvorak, on Sunday October 7, at 3 p.m., in Roussel Performance Hall, located in the Communications/Music complex on the Loyola University Main Campus. The performance is free of charge and open to the public. Free parking will be available on campus.

Selections for the October 7 concert will include the Overture to Candide by Leonard Bernstein, Danza No. 3 by Ludovic Lamothe (Haitian composer), and Symphony No. 8 in G Major (Op. 88) by Antonin Dvorak.

The Loyola University New Orleans Montage Series is a fine and performing arts showcase that exhibits some of the top arts events in the region. The series is dedicated to providing educational and entertaining performances, which include outstanding concerts, guest performers, masterclasses, jazz, dance, art exhibitions, and theatre productions in an intimate setting.
