New Appointments Announced at Loyola University New Orleans

(New Orleans)ŚLoyola University New Orleans President the Rev. Kevin Wm. Wildes, S.J., announced the appointments of the Rev. Theodore A. ôTedö Dziak, S.J., as director of the Jesuit Center, and Marlise L. McCammon as director of Human Resources.

Dziak has spent the last eight years working in the Caribbean as the director of the Jesuit Retreat Centre at Trinidad Farm for the last two years, and before that as president of St. Georgeĺs College, the Jesuit secondary school in Kingston, Jamaica for the previous six years. Dziak also spent eight years at Boston College where he served in several capacities including as chaplain in University Ministry, assistant to the president, and director of the Boston College Neighborhood Center that he established as an outreach center for the neighbors in the Allston-Brighton area of Boston. While at Boston College he was involved in retreat and immersion programs for students and faculty.

In 1983, Dziak founded the Jesuit International Volunteers (now JVI) and served as the agencyĺs executive director for seven years. JVI, located at Georgetown University, is a volunteer service agency that places recent university graduates in developing countries of the world. He is a member of the New England Province of the Society of Jesus.

Dziak earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from Michigan State University, a master of arts in teaching degree in English as a Second Language from the University of Illinois, and mastersĺ degrees in theology and divinity from Weston School of Theology.

McCammon has worked in the human resources/labor relations field for more than 28 years at several institutions including Iowa State University and Wichita State University in Kansas. Prior to coming to Loyola, she served as director of human resources for Delgado Community College in New Orleans. McCammon began her career in human resources with NCR-Engineering and Manufacturing in Wichita, Kansas, where she held positions as manager of labor relations and manager of compensation and employment. She also was an adjunct professor at the Barton School of Business, Wichita State University.

McCammon earned a master of science degree in human resource management from Purdue University and a bachelor of science degree in social science from Michigan State University where she graduated with honors. McCammon, a New Orleans native, graduated from Mercy Academy and Holy Name of Jesus.
