College of Music presents string quartet concert for Habitat for Humanity

(New Orleans)—Professors in the College of Music at Loyola University New Orleans will present a string quartet concert on Thursday, June 29, 2006, at 8 p.m. in the sanctuary of Temple Sinai. Donations for this free concert will be given to Habitat for Humanity’s new Musicians Village of New Orleans. Loyola professors Valerie Poullette, violin, and Allen Nisbet, cello, will be joined by Amy Thiaville, concertmaster of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, and Daniel Avshalomov, violist with the New York based American String Quartet. The concert consists of quartets by Prokofieff, Haydn, and Brahms.
