Loyola University New Orleans Presents Mike Doughty: A Benefit for the Musicians’ Village

(New Orleans)—Loyola University New Orleans will host a Habitat for Humanity Musicians’ Village benefit concert showcasing rising star musician Mike Doughty on November 10, 2006 from 7 – 9:30 p.m., on Loyola’s Peace Quad complete with food and beverages. The concert is open to the public and admission is free, however, donations will also be accepted for Habitat for Humanity Musicians’ Village.

Mike Doughty’s band is currently the opening act for the Barenaked Ladies tour and has recently signed to ATO Records founded by star musician Dave Matthews. For more information about Mike Doughty and his band please visit http://www.littlebigman.com/pr/MikeDoughty/.

Habitat for Humanity’s Musicians’ Village, conceived by Harry Connick, Jr. and Branford Marsalis, is a project in which 81 Habitat homes are under construction for displaced New Orleans musicians. In addition to the homes in the tract, plans call for building at least 150 other homes in the surrounding neighborhood.
