(New Orleans) Loyola University New Orleans will present a Fall Senior Project One-Act Festival December 3 and 4, at 7 p.m., in Lower Depths Theater. The festival features And Tell Sad Stories of the Deaths of Queens by Tennessee Williams, directed by Jessica Lozano. Admission is free.
Williams' writing transcends time in this dark but witty, recently discovered play. This play follows the life of Ms. Candy Delaney, a New Orleans drag- queen. She has become a famous interior designer when she meets a young sailor named Karl. Karl and Candy begin their relationship and find that the individual who lives honestly is condemned, and the one who lives appropriately condemns him. The play also includes an eccentric pair of young drag-queens that really embrace what it means to be a part of the great city of New Orleans.
The Senior One-Act Festival, sponsored by the Loyola Department of Theatre Arts and Dance, occurs at the end of each semester and is presented by the graduating seniors as their final thesis.
