Environmental Chair launches new radio talk show on Biz Radio

Loyola announcement - August 1, 2005

Loyola University New Orleans Professor Robert Thomas, Ph.D., chair in environmental communications and director of the Center for Environmental Communications, will host a weekly environmental show on Biz Radio 990 AM.

Thomas launches his new weekly environmental talk show on Monday, August 1, 2005, from 4 – 5 p.m., and the show will continue every Monday thereafter at the same time. His first show will feature Mark Davis from the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana. Davis will discuss environmental communications in general.

The Biz Environmental Show is intended to introduce the listener to environmental issues that affect the lives of the citizens of southern Louisiana. Many will be generally known (coastal wetlands loss, negative impacts on fisheries, various forms of pollution), and we will introduce emerging issues (such as the debate about the future of LNG facilities and windmill generated energy offshore).

The show’s purpose is to educate the listeners, and make sure that folks can connect the dots between environmental challenges and their lives (especially through the business community).

The leading environmental experts—both business persons and activists—will be featured guests.

“We guarantee that the weekly discussions will be engaging and quite possibly change the ways some think when they hear ‘environmental,” says Thomas.
