Ebony magazine selects Professor Debra Woodfork as a leader of the future

Assistant Professor of Communications Debra Woodfork has been named by Ebony magazine as one of the ô30 Leaders of the Future,ö and she is featured in the April 2005 edition of the magazine.

According to the article in the magazine, ôThey are young, gifted and Black. And while they have dedicated time and effort to get a solid educational foundation, they also have demonstrated a strong and focused mission to give back to their communities...Ebony canvassed the U.S. in search of young people 30 and younger who have established themselves as leaders or are demonstrating that they have what it takes to be a good leader.ö

Woodfork joined the Loyola faculty in 2001 as an instructor in the Shawn Donnelley Center for Nonprofit Communications. Since 2003, she has been an assistant professor teaching layout and design. She has a bachelorĺs of arts from Xavier University of Louisiana and a masterĺs of fine arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

ôEverything I do with my teaching has been based on all of my educational influences,ö Woodfork says. ôI truly love what education has to offer, as a student and now as a professor.ö
