Loyola Honors Pope John Paul II
The University Ministry, in conjunction with the Jesuit Center, COMPASS, and SGA, has scheduled activities to commemorate the death of Pope John Paul II during the week of April 4, 2005.
All week
- Trees in the Peace Quad wrapped in white cloth
- White ribbons to wear (distributed by COMPASS, University Ministry, Jesuit Center and SGA)
Monday, April 4
- Mass for the Feast of the Annunciation in Ignatius Chapel, 9 p.m.
- Peace Rosary, 6:30 p.m., Ignatius Chapel
- Encountering Karol Józef Wojtyla: an open student discussion on his life and legacy at 9:30 p.m., Manresa Den
Tuesday, April 5
- Memorial Mass for John Paul II, 12:30 p.m. at the Holy Name Church with university president, the Rev. Kevin Wm. Wildes, S.J., presiding; all are asked to wear white in commemoration of the Holy Father (NO NOON MASS IN IGNATIUS CHAPEL)
- Mass in Ignatius Chapel, 9 p.m.
Wednesday, April 6
- Morning prayer and candle lighting in the chapel, beginning at 8:15 a.m.
- Mass in Ignatius Chapel, 12 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Thursday, April 7
- Mass in Ignatius Chapel, 12 p.m. and 9 p.m.
- Presentation on Pope John Paul II at 12:30 p.m., details TBA
Friday, April 8
- Eucharistic Adoration beginning at 8:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. in Ignatius Chapel
- Mass in Ignatius Chapel, 12 p.m.
