Before becoming ambassador, Vujacic taught economics at the University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia. In 1990, Vujacic joined the Democratic Party at its founding convention. He was elected to the Federal Parliament where he served from 1992 to 1996, and from 1994 to 1996, he acted as whip. In addition to his extensive political career, Vujacic helped found the G17 group of independent economists and served on the G17Plus Board of Directors. He also joined the Center for Liberal Democratic Studies, an independent think tank, in 1999.
