The Crescent City Farmers Market and Loyola Universityĺs Economic Institute present 4M: an intensive, hands-on workshop for practitioners to fine-tune the mission, management, marketing, and measurement of their farmersĺ markets. The workshop will be held Wednesday, January 19 and Thursday, January 20, 2005.

The two-day workshop will be staged in two locations. On Wednesday, the workshop will take place at the historic French Market and U.S. Mint, 400 Esplanade Avenue, followed by cocktails at Bella Luna with Bob Odom, commissioner of agriculture and forestry for the state of Louisiana. On Thursday, 4M will be held at the Garden District Hotel, 2203 St. Charles Avenue, with a farmersĺ market lunch by Chef Evans of Luluĺs. An impressive host of speakers include Mike Kane, Ed.D., adjunct professor at Tulane University City College; Don Wambles, administrator of Alabama Market Authority; Charlie Touchette, executive director of North American Farmersĺ Direct Marketing Association; John Seago, owner of Pontchartrain Vineyards; and Marcus Weiss, president of Economic Development Assistance Consortium in Massachusetts.

4M will provide participants with new strategies to improve their inner workings of their farmersĺ markets.
