Professor of Law selected Fulbright Scholar

James Marshall Klebba, Victor H. Schiro Professor of Law at Loyola University New Orleans, has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant to lecture at the University of Belgrade during the 2004-2005 academic year. Klebba will teach Introduction to American Law and Comparative Civil Procedure.

Klebba began his career with Loyola in 1973. He is a nationally respected scholar having published extensively in leading legal journals and publications. He has served the law school previously as associate dean, interim dean, and dean. Klebba was a visiting law professor at the Universities of Minnesota, Missouri and Kansas. He has lectured extensively in Eastern Europe and the former U.S.S.R. and is the director of Loyola's Summer Legal Studies Program in Moscow and Budapest. He is a former chair of the Association of American Law Schoolsĺ Section on Civil Procedure. He teaches courses in the areas of civil procedure, evidence, federal courts and comparative judicial systems.

In recognition of his tremendous contribution to the enhancement of the law school, Klebba was invested with the Victor Schiro Professorship of Law in 1993. He received a juris doctor from Harvard Law School in 1967 and a bachelor of arts in political science from St. Johnĺs University in Collegeville, Minn.

The Fulbright Program is sponsored by the U. S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Recipients of Fulbright Scholar awards are selected on the basis of academic or professional achievement and because they have demonstrated extraordinary leadership potential in their fields.
