Biever Guest Lecture Series presents

Matthew VanBesein, general manager of the Houston Symphony, will give a
lecture on "Opportunities in Orchestral Management." The lecture is set for Tuesday, March 16 at 12:30 p.m. in Nunemaker Hall.

VanBesien is one of the rising young stars in the field of orchestral management. He won a management fellowship from the American Symphony Orchestra League and spent time with the Phoenix Symphony, The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and the Pittsburgh Symphony. Before his current position he was special assistant to the executive director of the Houston Symphony.

VanBesien is highly regarded by both musicians and management. He brings a unique perspective to the field having also been a professional French horn player in the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra.
