Excellence in Community Service Award
Deadline for Nominations and Complete Packets:Tuesday, April 13th, 2004 at 4:30 PMA&S Dean’s Office, Bobet 202
Nominations are requested from individual students, alumni, faculty members, student organizations, and department chairs for the Annual College of Arts and Sciences Excellence in Community Service Award.
The College of A&S Excellence in Community Service Award is granted to someone who has demonstrated a commitment to benefiting the Loyola community and the community at large. Service to Loyola includes serving on committees, serving as a guest lecturer, and other activities that will benefit the life of Loyola. Service to the larger community includes serving on civic committees, making presentations, presenting musical performances, and other activities that enhance the reputation of the University. With the exception of the faculty members on the A&S awards committee*, all current A&S faculty members, full or part-time, are eligible for nomination.
The award will be presented at the A&S Honors Convocation. The winner will be notified by Friday, April 30th, 2004.
The selection committee, which consists of seven faculty members from the A&S awards committee, will base its decision on the substance and persuasiveness of the packet of supporting materials.
All nominees are responsible for cooperating in the assembling of a packet of supporting materials including:§ Curriculum Vitae (CV)§ Letters of recommendation from peers, alumni, and community served§ List of service§ Any other service-related materials
* The faculty members on the A& S awards committee are Nancy Anderson, Maurice Brungardt, Patrick Bourgeois, Peter Burns, Maria Calzada, Mary McCay, Joseph L. Etherton, Sarah M. Gualtieri, Peter Rogers, and Maureen Shuh. These faculty members are not eligible for nomination.
