A&S Excellence in Advising Award Nominations Requested

Nominations are requested from individual students, alumni, faculty members, student organizations, and department chairs for the Annual College of Arts and Sciences Excellence in Advising Award.

The College of A&S Excellence in Advising Award is granted to faculty who are identified by students and colleagues as especially committed to the advising of students. This award also recognizes the importance and value of the advising process at Loyola. It is granted to someone who has established a reputation and a record of clear dedication to serving the needs of students. With the exception of the faculty members on the A & S awards committee*, all current A&S faculty members, full or part-time, are eligible for nomination.

The award will be presented at the A&S Honors Convocation. The winner will be notified by Friday, April 30th, 2004.

The selection committee, which consists of seven faculty members from the A&S awards committee, three student representatives from DSAC, and one alumni representative, will base its decision on the substance and persuasiveness of the packet of supporting materials.

All nominees are responsible for cooperating in the assembling of a packet of supporting materials including:§ Curriculum Vitae (CV)§ Letters of recommendation from peers, students, and alumni§ Any other advising-related materials

* The faculty members on the A& S awards committee are Nancy Anderson, Maurice Brungardt, Patrick Bourgeois, Peter Burns, Maria Calzada, Mary McCay, Joseph L. Etherton, Sarah M. Gualtieri, Peter Rogers, and Maureen Shuh. These faculty members are not eligible for nomination.
