A&S Excellence in Teaching Award Nominations Requested

Deadline for Nominations and Complete Packets:Tuesday, April 13th, 2004 at 4:30 PMA&S Dean’s Office, Bobet 202
Nominations are requested from individual students, alumni, faculty members, student organizations, and department chairs for the Annual College of Arts and Sciences Excellence in Teaching Award. Letters of nomination should elaborate on the strong teaching qualities possessed by the nominee. With the exception of the faculty members on the A&S awards committee*, all current A&S faculty, full or part-time, are eligible for nomination.
The award will be presented at the A&S Honors Convocation. The winner will be notified by Friday, April 30th, 2004.
The selection committee, which consists of seven faculty members from the A&S awards committee, three student representatives from DSAC, and one alumni representative, will base its decision on the substance and persuasiveness of the packet of supporting materials.
All nominees are responsible for cooperating in the assembling of a packet of supporting materials including:§ Curriculum Vitae (CV)§ Letters of recommendation from peers, students, and alumni§ Student evaluations of teaching (from the previous year only)§ Syllabi§ List of classes taught at Loyola§ Any other teaching-related materials
* The faculty members on the A& S awards committee are Nancy Anderson, Maurice Brungardt, Patrick Bourgeois, Peter Burns, Maria Calzada, Mary McCay, Joseph L. Etherton, Sarah M. Gualtieri, Peter Rogers, and Maureen Shuh. These faculty members are not eligible for nomination.
