Loyola receives grant to fight violence on campus
Loyola announcement - December 22, 2004
The U.S. Department of Justice has granted Loyola University New Orleans, in a consortium with Xavier and Dillard universities, nearly $400,000. The grant, from the federal Office of Violence Against Women on Campus, provides an opportunity for the campuses to work together to implement preventative and educational programs, review and revise campus policies which impact victims and perpetrators, and incorporate violence against women issues into curriculum.
The grant, New Orleans Campus Consortium Against Violence (NOCCAV), is scheduled to run through September 2006, and it will strengthen security and investigation strategies to respond to and prevent domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking crimes on campus.
