College of Music presents annual Christmas at Loyola concert on December 5th

Loyola University New Orleans College of Music presents Christmas at Loyola
featuring Loyola Choirs under the direction of Meg Hulley Frazier; the Loyola Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Dean Angeles; the Loyola Brass Ensemble under the direction of Jeremy Brekke. The concert is set for Sunday, December 5th at 3 p.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church located on St. Charles Avenue on the university campus. The Loyola Alumni Association will sponsor a reception immediately following the concert.
The annual concert is a mixture of classical Christmas music and treatments of more popular Christmas songs. The Loyola University Choirs will feature works by J.S. Bach, David MacIntyre, Dwight Gustafson, Lara Hoggard, Frank Martin, and Franz Biebl. The Loyola Chamber Orchestra will perform Andersonís Suite of Carol for String Orchestra. The program will be rounded out by a number of traditional Christmas carols and hymns, and will close with an audience sing-a-long.
