Loyola Law Alumni Association Annual Luncheon on January 16th

(New Orleans)— The Law Alumni Association of Loyola University New Orleans will hold its annual Law Alumni Luncheon on Friday, January 16, 2004 at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel in the Waterbury Ballroom. The reception will begin at 11 a.m followed by the luncheon at noon.
Janet Mary Riley is the recipient of the 2004 St. Ives Award which will be presented at the annual luncheon. The award, named after the patron saint of lawyers, is presented annually to a Loyola School of Law graduate who has volunteered services to the law school or the university, maintained the highest standers of the profession, and furthered the mission of the alumni association.
Riley is a Loyola Law Professor Emerita as well as a 1956 graduate of the Loyola Law School. During her tenure as a professor she wrote the first casebook on Louisiana Property Law, and served as a Louisiana Law Institute Reporter where she took action to revise Louisiana laws that discriminate against a person based on gender. The Janet Mary Riley Distinguished Professorship was established in 2002 to promote excellence in teaching and scholarship in the field of law.
The luncheon is open to the public; tickets are $38 a person and $375 for a table of ten.
