Loyola University New Orleans Plans September 11 Memorial

(New Orleans)—Plans are underway at Loyola University New Orleans for a September 11 memorial. An academic panel presentation titled "One Year After" is scheduled for Wednesday, September 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the St.Charles Room, Danna Center followed by a candlelight memorial service.
Political Science associate professor Eric Gorham will moderate the discussion among includes the following panelists: Sarah Gualtieri, Ph.D., assistant professor, history; Ken Keulman, Ph.D., professor, religious studies; Larry Lorenz, Ph.D., professor, communications; and Joseph Ganitsky, Ph.D., Banc One Professor of International Business. A question and answer session will follow the faculty presentations.
Following the academic panel, the Office of Student Activities, Student Government Association, University Ministry, and the Office of the Provost will hold a memorial service in Marquette Horseshoe at 9 p.m. During the service, eight students will read the names of each of the September 11 victims and a candle will be lit. Professor Meg Hulley will direct a choir from the College of Music.
