Loyola University Advertising Team wins first place in district competition and Continues to the national competition

(New Orleans)—For the fifth time in nine years, the Loyola University New Orleans Advertising Team has won first place in the Seventh District National Student Advertising Competition, sponsored by the American Advertising Federation. The competition was held in Atlanta April 11 - 13, 2002.
Students from 11 universities in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana and Georgia prepared an advertising campaign for Banc of America Investment Services, an investment branch of Bank of America. The students were directed to develop an integrated marketing communications campaign to target the 45 to 65-year-old affluent market. Each team prepared a 40-page campaign plans book and a 20-minute multi media creative presentation.
The winning campaign from Loyola was developed as part of a semester-long course in advanced advertising campaigns, including 16 communications students. The national finals will be held in Bal Harbor, Florida June 5 - 9. Prof. Teri Henely is the faculty adviser for the team.
