Japanese Consulate representatives to discuss employment exchange program October 24
Loyola press release - October 17, 2002
Students may apply to teach English at secondary schools as assistant teachers or to work in local government offices as coordinators of international relations. Neither Japanese language skills nor teaching experience are necessary for the assistant teaching positions. Both positions require a bachelor’s degree, an interest in Japan and the ability to adapt to living in a foreign county. Those applying from the United States must be American citizens.
Participants receive a generous tax-exempt stipend (about $30,000 at current exchange rates), roundtrip fare, housing assistance, paid orientations, access to counseling and Japanese language training. To apply, get the 2003 application online from www.neworleans.emb-japan.go.jp or call 800-INFO-JET. The deadline is December 5, 2002 and late applications are not accepted.
