Missionary to Speak at Law School

Loyola press release - October 11, 2002

Former Lawyer Turned Missionary Speaks at Loyola Law School

(New Orleans)—Loyola University School of Law alumnus Ken Mayeaux will speak at the law school on October 17, 2002 at noon in Room 112. His speech titled “From Lawyer to Missionary—A Journey of Faith, Hope and Love” will chronicle his life as a former lawyer who gave up a thriving law practice to become a missionary in Mexico.

A 1986 graduate of the law school and member of Law Review, Mayeux was a commercial litigation partner at Frilot Partridge Kohnke & Clements, L.C. for five years before becoming a Catholic lay missionary in September 2000 in rural Northern Mexico. He is married to the former Shannon Brennan. They have four children.

The discussion is sponsored by the Law Dean’s Office and University Ministry and is open to the public. A light lunch will be served. For more information or to make reservations, call Kathleen Breaux at 861-5761.
