Loyola University New Orleans Institute for Ministry offers summer lecture series

(New Orleans)ŚThe Loyola University Institute for Ministry (LIM) will present two free public lectures, on Friday evenings, during July. The lectures will begin at 7 p.m. in Miller Hall 114 and will be immediately followed by complimentary receptions and/or boosksignings in Miller Hall 121. The lectures will take place on Loyolaĺs main campus, 6363 St. Charles Avenue.

On July 13, Sr. Marie Vianney Bilgrien, S.T.D., will discuss "Bio-Ethics: New Questions, New Challenges." The lecture will explore emerging issues in bioethics and questions what is the good thing to do for the good of humanity and future generations, not just what is the right thing to do. Sr. Bilgrien will be at the reception following the lecture.

In "Households of Faith and the Chuch: A Partnership for Discipleship" speaker Carol Eipers, D.Min., will talk about an effective partnership between families/households and the Church. Values and expectations articulated by the Churchĺs documents will be explored and the implications for parishes, other Christian institutions and families/households will then be discussed on July 20. A booksigning will follow at the reception.

Each of the Institute for Ministryĺs free public lectures, during summer 2001, will be followed by a Saturday day-long (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) workshop, featuring the Friday evening lecturer.
