Loyola University College of Music presents A Centennial Tribute to Louis Armstrong on April 18th

(New Orleans)—Loyola University New Orleans College of Music present A Centennial Tribute to Louis Armstrong. The concert is set for Wednesday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Louis J. Roussel Performance Hall, on the second floor of the Communications/Music Complex located at the corner of Calhoun Street and St. Charles Avenue.
General admission is $10 and student admission is $5. Tickets and additional information are available through Loyola's ticket box office at 865-3492.
The concert will feature trumpeters Leroy Jones and Jamil Sharif, backed by pianist Larry Seiberth, bassist James Singleton, and drummer Shannon Powell. The ensemble will perform the music of Louis Armstrong, one of the world's most influential jazz musicians. "This New Orleans-based ensemble has soaked up years of influences that can all be traced back to Satchmo's legacy," said Tony Dagradi, associate professor of music and music coordinator for the concert.
