Loyola University New Orleans ôWolves on the Prowlö service project to spruce up Dibert Elementary School

(New Orleans)ŚNovember 10, 2001 will find members of the Loyola University community-- current students, alumni, faculty and staff-- coming together to spruce up Dibert Elementary School, 4217 Orleans Avenue. Last year, over 100 students and alumni participated in this service project. The event is sponsored by the Student Government Association, with help from University Ministry and the Loyola University Alumni Association, will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Students, faculty and staff will gather in the Peace Quad on Loyolaĺs main campus at 6363 St. Charles Avenue to caravan to Dibert. Buses also will be available to transport students to the site.

Participating alumni will start at Dibert at 9:00 a.m. to meet Salvador Longoria, Aĺ80, L ĺ83, winner of the alumni associationĺs Adjutor Hominum 2001-02 award, and the chair of alumni boardĺs community service committee. Some of the supplies for the day of service have been donated by Harryĺs Ace Hardware and Home Depot.

Based on the heritage of Catholic Jesuit higher education in Louisiana since 1849, Loyola University New Orleans was chartered in 1912. Today, the university serves approximately 5,550 undergraduate and graduate students. The university is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
