Loyola University New Orleans School of Law National Moot Court team members are champions

(New Orleans)óMembers of the Loyola University New Orleans School of Law National Moot Court are champions again. The team defeated 10 law schools to become the 2001 Regional VII Champions. Now, the team advances to the national competition to be held in January where it will vie against the top 25 law schools in the country.
Team members include brief writer and Shreveport, La., native Angela Blandino; oralists Josiah Jones from Katonah, New York; and Candice Sirmon from Mobile, Ala.; and coach Juan Carlos Moreno, from Birmingham, Ala. Jones was named Best Oralist in both preliminary rounds and Sirmon was named the Best Oralist overall.
At the regional competition at the University of Alabama, Loyola defeated Tennessee and Vanderbilt in the preliminary round, and Tulane and Alabama in the semi-final and final rounds, respectively. Region VII also includes Samford, Memphis, University of Mississippi, Mississippi College, Southern, and LSU.
