Loyola student film selected for New Orleans Film Festival

(New Orleans)—Loyola University New Orleans student Mike Miley wrote and directed Ghost Writers, a short film that has been selected to be shown at the New Orleans Film Festival. The film is scheduled to play the closing night of the festival, Thursday, October 19, at 7 p.m. at the Contemporary Arts Center, 900 Camp St. Miley is a senior English major.

The 23-minute film is about an unoriginal screenwriter getting creative help from the ghost of Ed Wood, the screenwriter who drafted Plan 9 from Outer Space, the worst film of all time. Writers stars two Loyola students and features an original score by two recent graduates of the Loyola College of Music. The Film Buffs Institute at Loyola will screen the film on Tuesday, September 26, at 7:30 p.m. in Bobet Hall, Room 332.
