Loyola University New Orleans City College Spring Salon to benefit scholarships

(New Orleans)—Loyola University New Orleans City College Alumni Board is hosting its Spring Salon, a scholarship fund-raiser, on Friday, March 24, 2000 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. The event, a buffet and auction, will be held in the Audubon Room, second floor of the Danna Center, 6363 St. Charles Avenue. All proceeds from the evening will support City College scholarships for adult learners.

Mary Lou Gandolini, C’86, will receive the City College Alumnus of the Year Award. This award is given to an alumnus who gives of his/her time, talent and resources to the college. Gandolini served as president of the City College Alumni Board for many years and was selected unanimously to receive this award.

Another Loyola alumnus, Glen Cunningham, A’97, has donated two pieces of his art for the auction. His work is abstract, done in subtle colors with crisp edges. Local restaurants, hotels and sport teams have donated other auction items.

City College is the evening liberal arts college at Loyola University New Orleans, with the special mission of providing higher education opportunities for working adults on campus and through distance education. The college enrolls over 700 undergraduate students both on and off campus, as well as 600 graduate students in the local, national and international programs.
