Loyola University New Orleans sponsors free income tax return assistance Feb. 26 - Apr. 15

(New Orleans)—-Loyola University New Orleans law students are offering free help with income tax returns through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA), a program sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service. VITA assistance is available at the Loyola University Monroe Library from February 26 to April 15 each Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and each Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. In addition, the Loyola VITA site will be open Wednesday, April 12, Thursday, April 13, and Friday, April 14, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
VITA volunteers will help all taxpayers, including those with special needs, persons with disabilities, non-English speaking persons, and older taxpayers in filling out basic Forms 1040, 1040A, and 1040EZ.
VITA assistance is free and open to the public. The Monroe Library is located on Loyola’s main campus, 6363 St. Charles Ave. For further information, call 861-5554.
