Loyola University College of Music presents the New Orleans Civic Symphony orchestra in concert on Oct. 23rd

(New Orleans)—Loyola University New Orleans College of Music presents the New Orleans Civic Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Joseph Hebert. The concert is set for Monday, October 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Louis J. Roussel Performance Hall located in the Music/Communications Complex at the corner of Calhoun Street and St. Charles Avenue.
Admission is free and open to the public. Additional information is available through Loyola's ticket box office at 865-3492.
The winner of the 2000 New Orleans Piano Institute's Concerto Competition, Julia Seo, will perform with the New Orleans Civic Orchestra. Seo, a student at the University of Houston, participated in the New Orleans Piano Institute this summer and took first place in the event's concerto competition. The Piano Institute is sponsored by the Musical Arts Society of New Orleans and held concurrent with the New Orleans International Piano Competition. Seo will perform the Prokofiev First Piano Concerto.
The concert will also feature Mozart's Overture to The Marriage of Figaro, Brahms' Variations on a Theme by Hadyn, and works by Glinka and Gliere.
