Loyola University College of Music presents "Monk's Dream- A Tribue to Thelonious Monk with the Michael Pellera Quartet on Nov. 2nd

(New Orleans)—Loyola University New Orleans College of Music presents the second concert of the Jazz Underground series titled Monk's Dream-A Tribute to Thelonious Monk. The concert will feature the Micheal Pellera Quartet. The concert is set for Thursday, November 2 at 7:30 p.m. in The Underground located in the basement of the Danna Center, the student union in the center of Loyola campus.
General admission is $10 and student admission is $5. Tickets and additional information are available through Loyola's ticket box office at 865-3492.
The concert will feature music of Thelonious Monk, one of the jazz world most unique composers/pianists. Monk's music has become standard in today's jazz repertoire. Michael Pellera, Loyola's jazz piano instructor, will interpret Monk's music in the solo piano format, as well as in the trio and quartet settings. Pellera's ensemble will include bassist Chris Severin, drummer Adonis Rose, and fellow Loyola faculty member, saxophonist Tony Dagradi.
