Loyola at the Met, College of Music Black Tie Gala

Loyola press release - September 16, 1999

Loyola University College of Music proudly announces its first benefit, Loyola at the Met, to be presented Friday evening, October 1, 1999 at 7:00 PM. This exciting event will feature the talents of an ensemble of former College of Music students now performing with the Metropolitan Opera in New York.

The evening will begin at 7:00 PM with a Cocktail Reception in the Dixon Court of the College of Music, followed by the concert in Roussel Hall at 8:00 PM. This performance will be an intimate and lighthearted musical presentation by sopranos Ruth Falcon and Phyllis Treigle, basso-baritones Greer Grimsley and Alfred Walker, and the well-loved tenor Anthony Laciura, singing some of their favorite arias. We are extremely proud that these talented stars of the opera world have generously agreed to perform for the benefit of the College of Music that first nurtured their talents. The cost of this portion of Loyola at the Met, including cocktail reception and concert, is $50 per ticket. Tickets can be purchased by calling Loyola's ticket office at 865-3492.

Following the concert, the guest artists and a special group of Patrons will be indulged with a Tuscan feast, sponsored be BRAVO! Restaurants, at the elegant uptown home of Mr. Alton F. Doody. Loyola College of Music students will provide a variety of entertainment for the pleasure of those attending.
