Watermelon Celebration at the Crescent City Farmers Market

Summer's here, and nothing beats the heat like fresh watermelon. This Saturday July 3, the Crescent City Farmers Market will give out free slices beginning at 8 a.m. Nationally-acclaimed chef John Folse selects crops from our region's farmers at 9 a.m., and performs a cooking demonstration at 10 a.m.
At 11 a.m., Chef Folse will broadcast "Stirin' it up," his live remote radio show from the market. Local farmers will sell a wide selection of watermelons, including the jubilee, moon and stars, yellow meat, and ice box. The Crescent City Farmers Market is open Saturdays, 8 a.m. to noon, rain or shine at 700 Magazine Street (Corner of Girod and Magazine).
