Loyola University New Orleans professor and Harahan resident does research in Germany

(New Orleans)ŚProfessor of Physics at Loyola University New Orleans Carl H. Brans is pursuing research on Relativity, Gravitation and Computer Algebra at the Institute for Theoretical Physics in Germany.

Brans is known for his research in Einsteinĺs General Relativity and in the Brans-Dicke theory, an extension of the Einstein theory. Particularly, his research focuses on the role of scalar fields in physics and the implications of differential topology for space-time geometry.

Based on the heritage of Catholic Jesuit higher education in Louisiana since 1849, Loyola University New Orleans was chartered in 1912. Today, the university serves approximately 5,550 undergraduate and graduate students. The university is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
