Best Selling Novelist Rebecca Wells Gives Performance/Reading at Loyola

(New Orleans)ŚThe Loyola Womenĺs Center presents a performance / reading by novelist/ actor Rebecca Wells on Wednesday, March 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Nunemaker Auditorium. Wellĺs second novel, The Divine Secrets of Ya-Ya Sisterhood, has become a national best-seller with almost 300,000 books in print. Most recently, Divine Secrets made the New York Times best seller list. A book signing will follow her one-woman show. The Loyola Bookstore will provide books for sale.

Wells, a native of Louisiana who now lives on an island near Seattle, Washington, has a humorous and quirky perspective on south central Louisiana and its people. Her works for the stage include Splittinĺ Hairs and Gloria Duplex, for which she created the lead roles. She has performed extensively, from Maine to Kodiak, Alaska, and has written teleplays for ABC and CBS. She has received numerous awards and fellowships, including the Western States Book Award for her first novel, Little Altars Everywhere.

Wellĺs dynamic presentation of ôperformed fictionö draws from both novels. She creates a captivating blend of storytelling, acting, and dramatic reading which embodies her unforgettable characters and stories.
