Loyola University New Orleans to Host Austrian Concert
Loyola press release - October 7, 1997
(New Orleans)—The Loyola University School of Law will co-sponsor a concert in celebration of Austria's National Day and to promote the law school's foreign study program in Austria on Wednesday, October 29, at 7 p.m. in the Louis J. Roussel Performance Hall, located in the Communications/Music Complex.
The concert will feature Stadtkapelle Trofaiach. Founded in 1874, the Stadtkapelle Trofaiach consists of amateur musicians that excel in a variety of music ranging from marching band performances to church-oriented festivities, in the usual brass-band style. The band plays over 150 concerts a year across Europe.
The Stadtkapelle Trofaiach was distinguished with many honors by foreign countries and was awarded first place in three music competitions. The band was also a recipient of the "Golden Microphone" in 1990, due to its continued involvement within popular programs of radio stations.
The concert is free and open to the public. Following the concert, refreshments will be served and the law school will display photographs and information about the Austrian study abroad program. For more information, please contact Judy Corcoran at 861-5563.
