Loyola Symphony concert features music by Wagner, Tchaikovsky and Mahler

The Loyola University New Orleans Symphony Orchestra presents a free concert of music by Richard Wagner, Peter Tchaikovsky and Gustav Mahler Friday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Louis J. Roussel Performance Hall, located in the Communications/Music Complex on Loyola’s main campus. The event is open to the public.
Directed by Jean Montès, D.M.A., the orchestra will perform Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyries” and Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 1. Brian Hsu, D.M.A., Loyola assistant professor of piano performance, will perform Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1.
Free parking for the event is available in the West Road Garage, accessible from St. Charles Avenue. A complimentary reception in the Roussel lobby will immediately follow the concert.
