Loyola press release - October 8, 2012

A short film by Loyola University New Orleans faculty will screen at the New Orleans Film Festival Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. at the Contemporary Arts Center. “You Are Here” was written by Loyola English professor John Biguenet and directed by graphic design instructor Tom Varisco, who also served as cinematographer. “‘You Are Here’ follows a woman on a spiritual quest of sorts who encounters signs all around her but doesn’t always heed them,” said Biguenet, the Robert Hunter Distinguished University Professor.

Part of the festival’s Louisiana Stories event, the “You Are Here” three-minute film is scheduled for showing at the Contemporary Arts Center at 900 Camp Street in New Orleans. Purchase tickets for the New Orleans Film Festival event online.

The film was also officially selected for the TIMECODE: NOLA Film Festival in New Orleans Sept. 29.

Biguenet and Varisco also teamed up for another short film, “40 Views of Water.” Written by Biguenet and directed by Varisco, it was selected for exhibition as an award winner at Love Unlimited Film Festival in Portland, Ore., May 27, 2011. It was also selected for the New Orleans Film Festival “Experimental Shorts Program,” Oct. 15 and 19, 2011.
