Loyola Prepares for Tropical Storm Isaac

Loyola press release - August 27, 2012

Loyola University New Orleans is cancelling classes and suspending normal operations beginning today at 12:30 p.m. through Wednesday, August 29, to allow faculty, staff and students adequate time to make their personal emergency preparations.

Loyola’s emergency action strategy for Tropical Storm Isaac is to shelter-in-place all students who reside on campus. All students who reside off-campus are asked to review their personal emergency plans and implement those as soon as possible. Academic buildings on campus will close today at 5 p.m. through Wednesday, August 29, however all residence halls, the Sports Complex and the Danna Student Center will remain open. Food services will continue to be provided for students.

At this time, Loyola anticipates resuming classes on Thursday, August 30. Any changes to that timeframe will be made in conjunction with recommendations by state and local officials.
