Montage Series presents Allen Nisbet and Yui Asano in 'The Romantic Cello'

Loyola press release - January 30, 2012

Loyola University New Orleans presents “The Romantic Cello,” an evening of selected works by familiar composers such as Edvard Grieg, Antonín Dvorak and Erño Dohnanyi on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Louis J. Roussel Performance Hall, located in the Communications/Music Complex on the corner of St. Charles Avenue and Calhoun Street. The event is free and open to the public.

“The Romantic Cello” features seldom-heard cello and piano music performed by College of Music and Fine Arts faculty members Allen Nisbet on cello and Yui Asano on piano.

Nisbet, who is recognized as one of the finest cello artist-teachers in the country, has been a fixture of the New Orleans music community for many years and played with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra for 18 years. Asano is one of the most in-demand pianists in the New Orleans area and frequently collaborates with musicians of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. She is also a member of the chamber music groups Musaica and the Windsor Court Trio.

Free parking is available in the West Road garage located on West Road and accessible from St. Charles Avenue.
