School of Nursing extends application deadline, holds additional open houses

Due to recent attention The Loyola University New Orleans School of Nursing will hold several online open houses in January for qualified nurses interested in pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. The open houses will offer information about the Post-Masters to D.N.P. program and the newly-created Bachelor of Science in Nursing to D.N.P. program. The open house schedules are as follows:
Post-Masters to D.N.P.
Jan. 24 - 9 a.m. CST
Jan. 31 - 6 p.m. CST
Feb. 7 - 9 a.m. CST
B.S.N. to D.N.P.
Jan. 9 – 6 p.m. CST
Jan. 18 – 6 p.m. CST
Jan. 24 – 10 a.m. CST
Loyola administrators are encouraging interested students to log in to the open house and research the requirements and curriculum on its website. School officials encourage those students interested in pursuing a D.N.P. degree to attend one of the many open houses or contact the school at 504-865-3142 for more information. Application deadline for all programs has been extended until Feb.1.
“We have everything a potential student would want to know about the programs on our website and encourage applicants to take a look at what we offer,” said assistant professor Gwen George, R.N., D.N.P., F.N.P.-B.C. “Enrollment for the upcoming 2012 classes is limited and we recommend that those seriously interested in attending start their application process soon.”
Orientations for both D.N.P. classes are set for April 2012, with classes beginning in May 2012.
