Support Loyola with a gift by texting
Loyola press release - March 9, 2011
The Office of Annual Giving at Loyola University New Orleans has launched itself into the world of social media by announcing a brand new text message donation campaign to benefit scholarship opportunities for students. Donating to Loyola has never been easier or more convenient.
Anyone with a cell phone can now send a $5 donation to Loyola by texting LOYOLA to 20222. Donors can give multiple times a month depending on the carrier. To kick off this campaign, the goal is to help the university reach 300 donations in 30 days. Donations are tax deductible, and pledges are billed through their monthly cell phone bill. Messaging and data rates may apply.
“We are thrilled that supporting Loyola is as easy as sending a text message,” says Shon Cowan Baker, associate director of annual giving. “The work done at Loyola by our students, faculty and staff is vital to our community, and the financial support of our alumni, parents and friends help us to continue that work. This is such an easy way to make a difference whether you are a first time donor, recent grad or long time donor.”
