Loyola remembers former trustee Alton Doody, Jr., with memorial service

Loyola University New Orleans will honor the life of former trustee, Dr. Alton Frederick Doody, Jr., during a memorial service at Holy Name of Jesus Church on Monday, March 14, at 3 p.m. Originally from New Orleans, Doody died last week in Columbus, Ohio at the age of 76 after a courageous battle with cancer.
“He was a great friend and supporter of Loyola and he will be greatly missed,” said Loyola President the Rev. Kevin Wm. Wildes, S.J., Ph.D.
Dr. Doody served on Loyola’s Board of Trustees from 2002-2008. Prior to becoming a trustee, he was a member of the College of Music Visiting Committee. He was the founder and president of The Alton F. Doody Co., a private investment management company in New Orleans. He began his worldwide consulting practice in 1964, and his clients have included international consumer goods manufacturers, retailers and service companies. He is the founder of Retail Planning Associates and co-founder of Applied Retail Systems, both with headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.
