Loyola creates oil spill resource webpage
Loyola press release - July 12, 2010
Loyola University New Orleans has created a website addressing the numerous efforts being made by its faculty and staff to respond to the oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. The site, Crude Awakening, features a list of faculty experts who can speak authoritatively on oil spill topics, a blog compiling faculty and staff commentary regarding the spill, press releases and news about Loyola’s involvement, local and national news headlines, and ways to get involved.
The Loyola community has responded to the disaster in the Gulf by serving as a resource, providing expert advice to media outlets around the world through our esteemed faculty, and organizing volunteer efforts to help businesses in the area recoup losses. The university’s goal in its response efforts to the spill is to help residents of the affected areas regain hope for the future.
LoyNews is an e-newswire produced by the Loyola University New Orleans Office of Public Affairs. LoyNews is distributed weekly to local, regional and national news media outlets, communicating the latest news and accomplishments of the university and its community.
