Office of Marketing and Communications wins admissions awards
Loyola press release - March 23, 2009
The publications and web communications teams of Loyola University New Orleans’ Office of Marketing and Communications were recipients of two national Admissions Advertising Awards for projects produced in 2008.
Art Director Allee Parker won a Gold Award in the Imprinted Materials Category for her design of the Class of 2012 Orientation Medallion. The medallion, designed to look like Mardi Gras beads, was given to all incoming freshmen in 2008.
In addition, the web communications team won a Merit Award in the New Media Category for the admissions e-mail recruitment campaign entitled, “The World is Our Blackboard.” The campaign was made up of four different electronic postcards sent to prospective students around the country. The postcards highlighted current students and their experiences at Loyola University.
The 24th Annual Admissions Advertising Awards, sponsored by Higher Education Marketing Report, is the oldest, largest and most prestigious advertising awards competition in the country for the field, with more than 3,500 entries submitted from every state and multiple foreign countries.
Terry Fisher, assistant vice president for marketing and communications, said the recognition, while welcome, comes as no surprise to her because of the quality of work the teams consistently produce.
“It is wonderful to have our teams recognized on a national level, and while competing against so many talented organizations,” Fisher said. “I am proud that the quality of work this team produces every day is being given its due, but what I’m really happy about is that we are helping the university achieve its goals in a dynamic way.”
