Loyola University "let it snow" on campus Thursday
Loyola press release - December 1, 2008
Despite a low of 44 degrees, the Loyola University Programming Board guaranteed snow on campus Thursday, Dec. 4.
For the second year in a row, board public relations director Scott Bryars said the student-run organization wanted to cap off the fall semester with a memorable event.
“It’s something for people who have never seen snow before,” Bryars said, “and a little hurrah before finals.”
Loyola students and neighbors played in 20 tons of snow, which covered the horseshoe lawn in front of Marquette Hall. A musical train picked up students on campus to transport them to the snowfall, where Loyola mascot Havoc posed for photographs and the Genesis Gospel Choir performed.
