College of Business professors to discuss national economy
Loyola press release - September 26, 2008
Loyola University New Orleans Joseph A. Butt, S.J., College of Business invites the public to a presentation Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 6:30 p.m., to discuss the current state of the national economy and what it means.
Professors William Barnett, Ph.D., and Ron Christner, Ph.D., will explain the origins of the nation’s financial crisis and describe the government’s actions to rescue the economy. Barnett and Christner will also take questions from the audience.
The presentation takes place at Nunemaker Auditorium in Monroe Hall, on Loyola’s main campus. It is free and open to the public.
Dean William Locander, Ph.D., says growing uncertainty locally about the economy hastened his decision to schedule the event.
“The presentation will give attendees valuable insights into the severity of our current economic situation,” Locander said.
